Fresh Food Pick-Up for Wildomar Residents

One of our continuing goals of the WCC is to provide food services programs for the residents in Wildomar. In 2008 it was highly publicized that our local food pantries and cupboards were quickly being depleted and that continues to be a constant given todays economic and financial downturn.

In 2008 we organized and promoted the Wildomar Inaugural Street Fair and Car Show to raise money to help feed families in need. Our goal was to obtain enough funds and contributions to provide food for 1000 meals to H.O.P.E.. With the help of the business community and residents the event far exceeded any expectations. We were able to provide more than 1000 meals from the donations received the day of the event. After expenses we were also able to provide a food donation delivery of over $1200 worth of canned food goods as well as another $450 in gift cards for the seniors at Thanksgiving. Even with existing government programs, today’s economic times have seen a great increase in the need for more services, not only for Wildomar but the entire valley.

At that October event, Gracepoint Nazareen Church of Wildomar stepped up and wanted to lend a helping hand. This year, February 2010 will mark the year anniversary of starting a program with those who are willing to lend a hand and asked H.O.W. can we help those in Wildomar. With the generous support and continued help of volunteers we hope to add more services to provide essential services to those in need.

The Fresh Food Deliveries come in on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 10:00 a.m. Please come and make use of this offered program. You can sign up the day of the deliveries. There are approximately 55-60 families currently registered and we will do our best to accommodate and provide boxes to all. Contents vary delivery to delivery.

Gracepoint Church of the Nazarene is located at 21400 Canyon Dr. Wildomar CA 92595. If you live outside the area you can reach H.O.P.E. Inc., at 29885 2nd Street, Unit R, Lake Elsinore, CA  92532. Phone (951) 345-6978
